Being a part of Langtec is much more than making tubes.
Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade
We’re good at making tubes and they are used in a myriad of applications right around the World, something that has been recognised by Her Majesty the Queen on two occasions. In both 2006 and 2012 we were honoured to achieve the prestigious ‘Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade’. The Award was presented on each occasion at our premises in Altham by the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Lord Shuttleworth, the Queen’s representative in the county. The honour culminated in a reception hosted by Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace that our Directors were proud to attend.

Don’t Look At Us……………
We love our staff, they are what make us successful.
We made a short video to focus on these wonderful people. Just don’t look at them, they don’t like it………
Bolton Robots of Doom
Langtec are proud to be sponsors of Bolton baseball team The Bolton Robots of Doom. Due to our strong trading links with North America we wanted to support an under-funded American sport here in Lancashire. The Robots of Doom play in the British Baseball Federation’s AA North division and in 2014 were runners-up in the BBF AA National Baseball Championships Final.
They continued this success in 2015 by reaching the finals of both the BBF North Cup competition and the National AA Finals.
“Thanks guys. Langtec has been tremendously supportive all season and enabled us to have an amazing year!”

Kankakee Area YMCA Fall Soccer League
In 2014 Langtec helped sponsor a kids’ soccer league organised by Kankakee Area YMCA in Illinois, USA. We wanted to ‘give back’ to our largest market and as we’re quite football-crazy at Langtec we decided that sponsorship of kids’ football/soccer would be most appropriate. The league, held each Fall, is open to boys and girls in various age ranges from 5 – 14 years old. Apart from having a Langtec team in each age range our sponsorship enabled them to hold a pre-season soccer clinic for the first time.
“I want to thank you again for supporting our program. It is amazing that a company based so far away from us could have such an impact in our community.”

Lancashire Reads 2014
It’s not all about sport. In 2014 Langtec got involved in ‘Lancashire Reads’, the annual campaign that aims to get as many people as possible, from age 10 upwards, across the county to read the same title by borrowing it from their County Library. To mark the centenary of the start of World War I the title chosen in 2014 was ‘Private Peaceful’ by Michael Morpurgo. Langtec bought 200 copies of the book which, for the first time, were donated to workplaces across Lancashire to encourage people who may not usually be readers to give it a go.
“Lancashire Reads has given us an opportunity not only to celebrate the love of reading, but to engage and enlighten readers and foster a sense of community throughout the county.”
Devon Air Ambulance
For many years Langtec have helped fund-raising for Devon Air Ambulance by sponsoring an annual Cribbage Tournament in Seaton, Devon. Our sponsorship of – and involvement in – this annual event has helped raise vital funds for this essential service.

Company Poem – International Tube Sensation
In 2015 we held a competition with local writers’ groups in Clayton-le-Moors and Oswaldtwistle to compose a poem for the company. The winner, Charlotte Youds of the Clayton group, summed up the company in four verses. Thanks Charlotte. Here’s her poem:
International Tube Sensation
Langtec works with many industries,
With welding, defence and communication,
Whatever they are, we’ll fulfil your needs,
We’re an international tube sensation.
We’ve got the knowledge and the ISO
And two Queen’s Awards too,
Wherever you stand, it’s obvious,
We’re the best at what we do.
From our home on Calder Court,
We do more than you might expect,
We’re patrons and sponsors of culture and sport,
Lending help and support to great effect.
So come to us for your tubing needs
We’ll give you advice, quality and respect,
Your expectations, we’re sure to exceed,
We are the one and only Langtec.
In the photograph Andrew our M.D. presents Charlotte with a certificate and framed copy of her winning poem.
In 2016 we held a couple of beer sampling evenings in our Conference Room for colleagues in the industry across Lancashire.
They are incredibly enjoyable evenings comparing craft ales from around Britain, Europe and North America and presented by The Lancashire Wine School (www.thelancashirewineschool.com).
The initial event proved to be so popular that guests are now travelling from further afield and we’re planning more evenings on the same theme.
